Before you send that "fire" text or slam the door, breathe for five seconds. It gives your brain a chance to catch up with your heart.

When a big feeling hits, label it. Is it "stress," "rejection," or maybe just "hangry"? Identifying the emotion takes away some of its power.

Ask yourself: "Is what I’m feeling 100% true, or is my brain just being dramatic right now?"
