The story follows Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), an ordinary man who is kidnapped on a rainy night and imprisoned in a private cell for 15 years without explanation. Upon his sudden release, he is given a phone, cash, and five days to uncover why he was taken and who his captor is.
