Polysaccharide

Polysaccharides are categorized based on their sugar composition and molecular structure:

Composed of two or more different monomer units (e.g., hyaluronic acid, pectin, agar). polysaccharide

Composed of a single type of sugar monomer (e.g., starch, glycogen, cellulose). polysaccharide

Polysaccharides are complex carbohydrates made of long chains of monosaccharide units linked by glycosidic bonds. They are the most abundant natural biopolymers and serve essential roles in energy storage, structural support, and cellular communication. polysaccharide

Can be linear (straight chains like cellulose) or branched (complex side chains like amylopectin or glycogen).
