The 1993 Korovina Group incident in Siberia saw six hikers die in the Khamar-Daban mountains, with survivor Valentina Utochenko reporting sudden, erratic behavior and rapid fatalities [1, 2]. While official reports cited hypothermia, the violent symptoms have sparked alternative theories including infrasound-induced panic, toxic exposure, or ingestion of poisonous fungi [1, 2]. More information on the event is available from the official autopsy reports and research into the incident.
