One stormy night, while the jungle was thick with fog, a sinister group of pirates known as the crept onto the island. Led by the greedy King K. Rool , they didn't want gold or jewels; they wanted every single banana Donkey Kong owned. They believed that by stealing the island's food supply, they could starve the Kongs and take over the jungle for themselves.

After battling giant bees and mechanical monsters, the Kongs finally reached King K. Rool’s pirate ship, the Gangplank Galleon . In a chaotic showdown of crown-throwing and barrel-smashing, Donkey Kong used his legendary strength to send K. Rool flying into the ocean.
